Lonesome Dove

Don’t miss it…some special events to celebrate the exhibit, Lonesome Dove at the Jeff Davis County Library this week:
Thursday, May 17th @ 12 pm
Meet Assistant Professor of History Kendra DeHart and hear about “Women of the West”
Saturday, May 19th @ 11 am
Dr. Nelson Sager Professor Emeritus at Sul Ross will present excerpts from Cowboy Poetry
All events are free and everyone is welcome to attend. Don’t Miss It!
For the closing of the exhibit, the following are events planned for:
Saturday, May 26th @ 11 am
Local historian, Lonn Taylor, will present a program, “The American Cowboy” fact and fiction.
Saturday, May 26th @ 11:45 am
Local musician, Washtub Jerry Wiant will perform on his fold instrument and give a “Tub Talk”. Copies of his book, “It Takes Pluck” will be available for purchase and signing.
A display of 45 historic bandanas spanning the 1930s to present will also be offered at the library to enrich the Lonesome Dove experience. Each is a work of art.
